Alejandro

Alejandro

The Chicago Hockey Initiative is excited to introduce our 46th Microgrant recipient – Alejandro!  Alejandro is an elementary school student from the Kelvyn Park neighborhood on Chicago’s Northwest Side.  Alejandro and his family first encountered the CHI at Chicago Blackhawks youth clinic at his local Chicago Park District rink.

Alejandro’s enthusiasm for hockey is immediately infectious. He enjoys hockey because “I like to skate! I like making goals!”  Those are the fundamentals for sure, Alejandro!  Alejandro’s mother recognizes that his time on the ice has helped teach Alejandro teamwork, sportsmanship, and discipline.  The CHI certainly appreciates those values as well.  Alejandro is a two-sport athlete, and his soccer coach, Coach Lazo, named him as captain because Alejandro “displays leadership and motivates his teammates” and “always has a positive attitude.”  The CHI is so pleased to join Alejandro’s support team and encourage his hockey development!
