Cameron

The Chicago Hockey Initiative is excited to introduce our most recent Microgrant recipient – Cameron!  Cam is a skater in the River Dogs youth hockey program and attends parochial school on the Northside.  Representatives of CHI Board had the opportunity to watch Cam play a game before meeting his family for the award; he is a quick skater, sportsmanlike competitor, and he has an obvious passion for the game. Cam is pictured in the center, flanked by his father Steven on the left and CHI Co-Director of Development Steve on the right.

Cameron wrote that he enjoys “playing with my team, passing to each other, and doing practices.” Sounds like an unselfish player with a strong work ethic! His father believes that through hockey, Cam has learned “teamwork, leadership, patience, and understanding. He has learned that being part of a team teaches players to rely on each other and encourage the group to support each other.”  This game certainly builds character for kids! The CHI is proud to support Cameron’s continued participation in the great game of hockey.
