Chicago Pride Parade

Chicago Pride Parade

The Chicago Hockey Initiative was excited to march in Chicago Pride Parade on June 28, 2015 as guests of the Chicago Gay Hockey Association!  This is the fourth year we have marched as allies of CGHA and we were thrilled to be joined this year by Lord Stanley’s Cup and Tommy Hawk! Chicago Pride Parade capped of a heck of a weekend, who hosted their Pride Classic hockey tournament earlier in the weekend. Over 160 players participated and most of them marched in the Parade as well!

The CHI mission to grow the game does not stop with our support of under-resourced youth hockey players.  We support the growth of the game universally, and specifically among the LGBTQ community. We support the You Can Play Project and their mission to extend inclusion in sports in the memory of Brendan Burke.
