Cooper

The Chicago Hockey Initiative is proud to introduce our 14th Microgrant award recipient for 2016: Cooper!  Cooper is a third grader in south suburban Chicago and plays defense for his youth hockey team. He is pictured with his father, mother, younger brother Max the taekwondo enthusiast, and CHI Treasurer Jason.

When asked what three things he enjoys most about hockey, Cooper wrote: “ I love to skate fast and make quick turns. I love to play defense and work with my friends to protect the goal. I love to work hard so that I get better at playing hockey. Hockey is my sport!”  Cooper’s excitement for the game is so apparent the CHI just had to support him!

Cooper also received accolades from his teacher, Ms. Thome, who wrote, “Cooper is an awesome student who demonstrates classroom citizenship and responsibility every day. He is always willing to take on a challenge with a positive attitude.” What great compliments!

Cooper, the CHI was happy to meet you and your family! We look forward to hearing about your hockey triumphs in the future!
